Meeting with Mrs. Nora Arisyan, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia
2 m. | 2023-03-13O n March 10, a meeting was held with Nora Arisyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia, at Public Relations and Information Center under the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
In the opening speech, the director of the IPRC, Gor Tsarukyan, first expressed his condolences on the devastating earthquake, which happened in Syria. Later he referred to Armenian-Syrian relations, emphasizing that they are based on the centuries-old friendship of Armenian and Syrian peoples, both in peace and hardship. The humanitarian mission sent by the RA, as well as the latest visits of the RA Foreign Minister A. Mirzoyan and the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan to Syria were highlighted as an important indicator of the deepening of bilateral relations.

Tsarukyan also presented the priorities of IPRC and Orbeli Analytical Center, including the directions of international cooperation, expressing willingness to cooperate with the analytical circles of Syrian and Syrian-Armenian communities. The Ambassador promised to mediate in establishing ties between the analytical circles of the two countries.
H.E. Mrs. Arisyan emphasized the development of Armenian-Syrian friendly relations, and one of the first support provided by the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people to the settlements of disaster zone.

The experts of the Orbeli Analytical Center also discussed issues related to Armenian-Syrian multi-sectoral relations, bilateral cooperation, intra-Syrian processes, the course of the Syrian conflict and the latest regional developments.

Ensuring cooperation in information, scientific-analytical field and the need to establish stable cooperation between Armenian and Syrian experts were emphasized.

It was agreed to step up bilateral contacts with a view to further enhance cooperation.
